High Value Projects
Let me use my years of experience in running complex, high cost, urgent & critical projects or programmes to help you deliver.
These types of initiatives tend to be very challenging and it's easy for them to get into a spin and get off track or fail.
There a lost of things you need to keep these super-tankers on course, but I have listed a few things which I think are critical:
Build trust & act with integrity:

Be in lockstep with your Executive Sponsor. Make sure you really listen to what they need, and partner with them to make sure roadblocks are removed quickly. Be transparent and trust-worthy in your dealings.

In the same way, really listen to Stakeholders - make sure you are all on the same page and everyone is kept in the loop.

Say what you will do and then do what you say. It's important to consistently hit targets and deadlines and act with integrity.
Pay attention to the basics:

Have a solid plan, but understand that things change so your response to new events or problems is probably more important.

Risk and issues management is key. Don't hide problems, pull in the right people to help solve them. Keep shooting issues until they no long pose a threat.
Course correct quickly:

Admit when you are wrong. As soon as you realise there is a better way, move swiftly to adopt the new approach, putting aside ego.
